This fall, the CUNY Center for Software Design and Development and the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline are launching CUNY Tech Prep, a new program designed to give you the specific tech and professional skills that employers have said they’re looking for when they hire software engineers and developers. The goal is to help you secure full-time employment in a related industry by graduation!
In the fall semester, you’ll attend a weekly two-hour class taught by instructors from the industry. During the class, you’ll hone your tech skills by working in a group on an open source project with real-world applications, culminating in a Demo Night in December for the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline Advisory Board.
You’ll also develop your professional identity with technical interviewing, networking, and resume building insight from employers who work in the field. During the spring semester, you’ll continue to work on your portfolio with instructor supervision, while focusing on your job search with continued guidance from CUNY Tech Prep. Throughout the year, there will also be opportunities to attend events, like hackathons and meet-ups, in the NYC tech sector.
If you’re graduating this year with a degree in Computer Science or a related major, APPLY NOW to be part of the first CUNY Tech Prep class!
